I thoroughly enjoyed taking these fotos of a true Texas tradition, The Salt Grass Trail Ride.  I drove from my studio in Houston out to Cat Spring, TX to get these, rather than wait for the trail ride to reach the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, because I wanted a minimum of modern features in the shots.  As it is, there are a few cans and cellphones visible, but overall the backgrounds are clear of freeway traffic, power lines and vehicles.   All of these images are available to purchase in high resolution and 10% of the sale price will go back to the Salt Grass Trail Ride's scholarship funds.  In addition I will give a discount to Salt Grass members.
  This project inspired me to do some experimental 'ol timey' versions of some of the fotos, and I went out to the Katy campsite to get a few more portraits.  About a dozen (a dirty dozen, you might say, since I 'aged' the fotos) will be put to canvas and shown for the first time at the New Ulm Gallery Artwalk,  Apr 29th 6-9pm, at The Gallery At...648 TayLor St., along with a selection of my other art fotografs taken over a period of over 40 years, and some fabulous paintings by my wife, Tara Jordan-Greenleaf in her very unique style.
